I have been offered a job out there with a starting wage of 38,000 per year. Plus 3,000 - 6,000 extra in bonus per year. In CA were I m at that is considered lower middle class. But with the cost of living being different in MO what would that be considered. Asked by pit8607 - Fri Jun 22 20:31:19 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. Depends upon where in MO. You'll do OK in KC or STL. Not outrageously well but OK. Now, if you're in Springfield, Joplin or Nixa or some place like that, you'll do quite nicely indeed. Wherever you are in MO, $41k - $44k will do you much better than in CA, that's for SURE! From folklore professors it seems they consider their field distinct from anthropology. What is the need to make this distinction, rather than considering it a subset of anthropology? For example, it seems to me that folklore studies should be considered as physics is to to science. Or is this a good analogy for how folklore professors define their field? Most aren't considering it distinct so much as they consider it to involve a lot of fields of study (and methods) simultaneously. The need for the distinction comes from the way the various fields are studied. Or, in other words, the "method" used in the field. Social/Cultural Anthropology tends toward the ethnographic method. Physics is a science because it is studied via the scientific method. Guitar is sometimes studied as physics too (there's that whole dividing a string under tension - acoustical physics thing) but we don't put the guitar lesson studio in the science department. Folklore as a field can indeed be studied by ethnography. But, like literature or communication, it can be studied critically (with the story… [cont.] Answered by CoachT - Thu Jun 18 08:36:43 2009 What are considered as the high end department stores in the United States?
Q. Besides Saks, Tiffanys and Bloomingdale's, what are considered to be the most extravagant stores in the United States? I like to browse through different websites looking at (daydreaming and drooling over) the extravagant and outlandish gifts that the wealthy buy without even batting an eyelash. Anyone? Asked by StardustMemrees - Wed Dec 3 16:50:21 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. Neiman Marcus (check out their extravagant Christmas catalog online) and Nordstroms. Tiffany's by the way is a jewelry store, not a department store. If you are including other than department stores, there are many extremely high end designer stores on Rodeo Drive in Hollywood or Worth Avenue in West Palm Beach.
