Communication is a process of transferring information from one entity to another. Communication processes are sign-mediated interactions between at least two agents which share a repertoire of signs and semiotic rules. Communication is commonly defined as "the imparting or interchange of thoughts, opinions, or information by speech, writing, or signs". Although there is such a thing as one-way communication, communication can be perceived better as a two-way process in which there is an exchange and progression of thoughts, feelings or ideas (energy) towards a mutually accepted goal or direction (information).

Communication is a process whereby information is enclosed in a package and is channeled and imparted by a sender to a receiver via some medium. The receiver then decodes the message and gives the sender a feedback. All forms of communication require a sender, a message, and a receiver. Communication requires that all parties have an area of communicative commonality. There are auditory means, such as speech, song, and tone of voice, and there are nonverbal means, such as body language, sign language, paralanguage, touch, eye contact, and writing.

What are the common misconceptions about communication?
Q. HELP!!! I can't find anything in the net that enumerates common misconceptions about communication. Some say there are eight and some say there are four. HELP!

A. I'm not sure if you are looking for a specific context, but try looking at the website I have provided. Personally, I thought five misconceptions existed, but this site lists a sixth one. You see them under the part of the page marked 'A'. Definitions and communication postulates follow. Good luck! I hope these ideas and the ones you're looking for are the same.

What are the effects of nonverbal communication between parents and their teens about puberty?
Q. Where do teens find info about puberty besides from parents? What are the outcome for the teens? Is it a negative outcome? Why isn't there communication between parents and their teens?
Asked by mlopez - Mon Feb 9 20:24:52 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. i think they dont talk about it because its awkward and their trying to avoid that. the outcome of the teens who learn about it from something other than their parents isnt really different from the ones who learned from their parents. the negative outcome is they might feel that they cant go talk to their parents about the changes their going through and they might feel they cant ask their parents about it. teens can find out about puberty from the internet and also there are a lot of books about it. a really good one is called " The Care & Keeping of YOU: The Body Book for Girls" that book is really good it helps me with all the problems i have

A. Communications, I was in that and intended to go into broadcasting. As for General Studies, I always thought that was something a student declared while he/she was discovering what they really wanted to do, but was under pressure to declare a major.
